book review: the fault in our stars

another masterpiece by john green. honestly, if i never read any other green's book, i probably won't read this. i think cancer related themes novel are just too much too handle and i am not very good in emotion department.
this book centered around two cancer-crossed lover who in my opinion was a perfect tearjerker. not because their unwillingness to live but their ignorance to the normalcy and the need to face the world and the consequences.
in the book, i think hazel's really wanted to find out what happened to anna's mother (an imperial affliction) because that is the thing that she had access to. she will never find out what will happen to her parents when she died and maybe in figuring out what happened to anna's mother, she'll have a clue on what will happened to her parents.
i think the book also tell us that we can never be well prepared. our lives are not something that is predictable. in hazel case, she was so ready, so prepared to be the one that leaves everyone behind; her parents, augustus, isaac... but she was never ready being the ones that was left behind. that's why augustus' death had  been a huge blow for her.
yet, hazel shows us that lives must go on. she still had her parents and maybe the epiloque of 'the imperial affliction' waiting for her. her parents also promised her that their lives will also go on even when she is gone because the one that make the world  moving is the living, not the dead.

i won't give you the synopsis or anything because to reveal too much is like a crime because this book is so beautiful.

i can't relate myself to hazel in any way. i don't have cancer and i also never lost anyone i love. but if i were her, i can't imagine waking up every morning and being thankful that i am breathing and alive.

movie review: tower of terror

ahhh.... nothing says memories like disney's classic. this one is worth mentioning.
i gotta say, who ever missed this movie in their childhood years really did missed something  ( i didn't and my childhood is awesome).
and p/s kirten dunst was so cute in this movie.

now everyone go to youtube and type out this movie. kthanxbai...

movie review: teen spirit

another pigeonholed american teenagers movie. need i say more?
it was a good stress relief movie, a bit funny and a little message (be who you are, be  confident bla, bla).
the story is about amber pollock, a super vicious, high heels and red cklaws high school queen bee who died on the night she was crowned prom queen. when   she was up there she was given a chance to redeem herself by making the least popular girl, lisa sommer the prom queen in a week. can she make it? only heaven knows...

movies review: december boys

watching this because daniel radcliffe was in it.

it leads us to the journey of four orphaned boys, all born in December, in a quest of family and friendship.
This story told about the real meaning of family and what it is to had one.
this movie is also about coming of  age (coughsexytimecough) and the truth that not all things are as it seemed.
a quite good find , if i might add, and as per usual, independent film always had a way with their presentation.

book review: the da vinci code

leonardo da vinci is, simply put, a troll.

finished this book yesterday evening and was totally satisfied with the ending.
it is a spiraling descend into the truth  laced with puzzles and riddles. it is the best thriller i have ever read. dan brown is a great author with great imagination and superb research that lead to the writing of this book.
the plot is fast paced that it make your adrenaline rush. the beginning is quite slow yet once the clues start coming, the mental gears start rolling and the plot start pacing. the mood of the novel is what you will expect from reading a thriller. surprise on every corner.
dan brown also managed to hid yet reveal the clues is a simple way. he can be unwilling to give away clues at one chapter and the next he threw clues here and there.
the moral of the story is maybe you wont find what you're looking for if you look too hard. sometimes the answer just come to  and when looking for something, you may find something that you are not looking for
