anime review: angel beats

yoshh minna!!!!
i'm back and ready to review the anime "Angel beats".

okay now imagine a highschool...  and in this so called highschool there was an organization whose main objectives is to go against all the normal regulation of school. because if you did, you'll disappear. and their enemy is the angel (tenshi) who is in truth the student council president.

the SSS brigade

enemies become friends that works together
Upon waking up, the first thing Otonashi sees aside of this beautiful night sky is Yuri, who is aiming at a girl they call Tenshi (Angel) with a big automatic gun. He has no recollection of who he is or how he got there. The world he finds himself in does not reach further than the school grounds and is inhabited by 3 kinds of people: First NPCs, who are soulless students and only appear to have normal behaviour; second the students, who teamed up to build the Afterlife Battlefront led by Yuri; and third Tenshi, who they are desperately fighting against. After Otonashi joins up with the Afterlife Battlefront he learns that in this world no one seems to age or die and that this world seems to be some kind of afterlife limbo. Everyone has deep regrets about their previous lives they don’t really want to talk about, projecting their hate and bitterness onto God and Thenshi. Yet, Otonashi is the only one who still doesn’t remember anything. Unlike the other members of the Afterlife Battlefront, he asks questions and does not simply drown his regrets in an everlasting battle against this mysterious Tenshi girl, dulling their pain and forgetting that the one they really hate are they themselves and their helplessness.

Angel Beats is an original story and arguably one of the best and most successful anime of 2010. What seems like a weird scenario at first, quickly turns into an emotional roller-coaster as you learn about the tragic pasts of the main characters. These authentic depictions of the problems and hardships of contemporary teenagers let the viewer relate to them on a level very few other anime can compete with. In between there is a lot of humor and mystery, which fits in just perfectly. Music, opening and ending are equally as beautiful rounding up an already perfect anime. Many complain that 13 episodes are not enough and wish for more episodes, while I think it is just fine the way it ended. It’s one of those shows able to move viewers to tears and will not disappoint.  (http://www.animeph.com/angel-beats-anime-review)

anime review: ano hana

alright, i didn't post anything lately because, well in my defense i was busy. i still read and watch movies and everything but i couldn't seem to find the time to post about them here.

today, i think i'll talk about my latest anime that i finished. i watched other anime too like naruto, one piece and bleach but those are not finished yet so they need to wait. the one anime i'll talk about is Ano Hana

the cover of the DVD volume
Ano Hana or the long title is Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai. is a story about friendship, love, jealousy, youth and death. it is about how a single event, a single person can effect person differently.

the one photograph that everyone seemed to have
the story focused on Jintan, a deliquent who seem to like to spend his time inside his house. playing game and watching TV. however, his normal, mundane, boring lifestyle was disturbed by the appearance of Menma, a friend who had died ten years ago.

The Super Peace Buster
ten years ago, there were six children who are very close to each other and called themselves "The Super Peace Buster". they love to play in the woods where they build a secret base. however, after the death of Menma, the six friends drifted apart. the difference schools the attend also become a problem for them to keep in touch.
the cast in chil form and teen form, except Menma

however, the appearance of Menma, who only Jintan can see and hear started to pull them together again. they need to figure out Menma's wish and grant it so that menma can go to heaven, or so they thought. Following the events of the story, lots of secret were revealed. feelings were hurt and heart were torn.

Menma's  last words
i think everyone can relate to this story, we all know that someone,  a person, that used to be so close to us when we were smaller now become a perfect stranger. we don't know him or her anymore. everyone had change, in one way or another.

more to this

i really recomend this to whoever looking for a fresh take on friendship ad love story. be warned that you need a box of tissue for this.

BTW, i love the ending theme "Secret Base". it is very deep......

my ebooks

well, technically i haven't read much lately. you know why?
because my ebooks are practically MISSING.
yes, missing.
my Sherlock holmes, pretty little liars, hunger games triology, chick flicks, all were missing.

NOOOO!!!!!!!! my ebooks!!!

story is that my laptop was fried one day and all the things that weren't really mine was lost, never to be found again.
sad thing, i knew. luckily my proposal was okay ( i found it after i went on a crying tirade and called my mother, man, i was such a mess then).

well, gotta haunt more ebooks then.

movie review: coraline

well, mase tngah main2 naik turun cursor, terjumpa movie ni, mesti ada yang masukkan (wink wink thanks :3)
coraline... hmmm. what can i make out of this movie. honestly i think this is like the mix of tim burton and alice in wonderland.
unless in wonderland alice got the red queen but coraline got a  beldam  (whatever that is).
i think this is like a fresh take that the usual movies. but at the first half it was quite boring, the storyline was rather slow then, but it gets better.
well i really suggest this to anyone who want a little something different.

button eyes, signal that you should run, Coraline

i'm back

hello, the wallflower is pretty much intact. maybe a bit dusty but still watching and understanding. it's funny how people sometimes try to hide something so obvious behind pretenses and words. i believe in action not words. i believe what i saw.

whoaa...very out of the introductory topic. bet seriously, i'm back.

movie review: we need to talk about kevin

i watched the movie last night. i had it for so long but i never watched it because i didn't have the mood. but last night i decided that i must watch it or else i won't.
considering that i read the book, the plot was easily comprehended.   however, if you never read the movie, i welcome you to the world of confusion.
there's something chilling about how the story march back and forth in the movie. from the tomato festival to the red paint to the halloween costume to the water pump and the cracked eggs. all of it mere part of the book, carefully crafted via the point of view of a mother who at some point reluctant of her own son and the other fight for his attention.
i think all Kevin want was attention from his mother. he seemed to detected that her mother didn't really wanted him at first, (mommy was happy before little Kevin come along, now everyday mommy wake up every morning and wish she was in France). but it was not hugs and kisses that he wanted out of his mother, no, he enjoy riled her up to the point where she cracked. and when she cracked to Kevin, he had won.
the ultimate of cracking his mother up  is when he murdered his father, sister Celia (who is totally opposite of him) and a few schoolmates in a well planned massacre.
other people maybe had bailed on him, let him rot in jail or whatever, but not Eva. she still visited him at fixed time. granted, the visit was lack of conversation but it shows that whatever it is, to Eva, Kevin is the only relation to her deceased husband (Franklin) that she had. Kevin in a way still had a piece of her that was shattered the day he murdered the family. at the nearly end of the movie we can see that Eva painted a room in the small house the same blue like in Kevin's old room and arrange his furniture the way he did in the old house, with no personal influence.  in a way, it shows that Eva still welcome him home, after he finished his time at Sing Sing.
this movies didn't consist a lot of dialogue. Eva expressed her feeling through her action so did Kevin, by the way he looked at Eva.
the director (Lynne Ramsay)  and the actors managed to bring the deep feeling from the book into the movie and at the same time didn't lose the chill that Lionel Shriver had crafted in the book.
playing the character Eva, tilda swinton brings up back and forth inside her memory of the incident. ahe showed a great deal of emotion without much conversation. but the chilling factor that was brought bu Ezra Miller (kevin) is really what make the movie special. Ezra Miller is the perfect Kevin K.

kanak-kanak dan pembunuhan

kebelakangan ni terlalu banyak berita tentang kematian kanak-kanak disiarkan. terutama sekali akibat kekejaman israel. pagi tadi pulak aku terbaca berita tentang school shooting kat U.S.
